In TOK class, we had two of our math teacher who teach a range of different year groups in XHIS to answer the difficult questions that we have about mathematics.

The question I asked during the discussion was ‘To What Extent Is math beautiful’, in which Mrs Marie answered with ‘What’s the definition of beautiful?‘ which admittedly had me stumped and unable to answer. However, after only a few seconds both mathematicians agreed wholeheartedly that math is beautiful is their eyes. I have a completely different perspective of maths, so it was interesting to see others opinions on math itself.

After the discussion questions, I left the classroom with new knowledge about the interesting background of Mrs Marie and Mr K of how they got to where they are now and with a new perspective of math.
